The House State and Local Government (SLG) Committee is expected to schedule testimony hearings for House Bills 322 and 327 next week on Wednesday, Sept. 22 or Thursday, Sept. 23. The hearing has not been officially announced; however, the SLG Committee may only give 24-hour advance notice of the hearing. PREPARE YOUR TESTIMONY NOW, so it is ready to submit when the hearing is announced!

SUBMITTING & PRESENTING TESTIMONY

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • After the hearing is announced, the SLG Committee will receive both written and in-person testimony documents (follow instructions below). In-person testimony is best, if you are able. In-person testimony is more impactful and persuasive than written.  
  • FOLLOW THE TESTIMONY INSTRUCTIONS BELOW: “HOW TO SUBMIT TESTIMONY”
  • Written & In-Person testimony must be emailed at least 24 hours prior to the hearing, AFTER THE HEARING HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED. The committee WILL NOT accept testimony prior to the hearing announcement. Sign-up HERE to be immediately alerted about the hearing.
  • YOU MUST include a completed Witness Information Form when emailing your written and in-person testimony.
  • In-Person Testimony
    • Take necessary health precautions to guard against COVID-19
    • Limit in-person testimony to 5 minutes to allow time for other opponent testimony.
    • Be prepared to answer questions. It is OKAY to say “I do not know.”
