More about ranked choice voting:
RCV is an electoral system in which voters rank candidates by preference. If a candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, he or she is declared the winner. If no candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, the candidate with the fewest first-preference votes is eliminated. First-preference votes cast for the failed candidate are eliminated, and second-preference choices on these ballots are then elevated to first-preference. Click here to learn more about RCV.
Thank you for your time. There is no action for you to take at this time as a non-Ohio resident. You can support LWV Ohio by making a donation.
You can make a bigger impact by calling your State Senator and Chair Rulli's office (614-466-8285) and telling him that you are opposed to Senate Bill 137.
Sample Script:
I'm opposed to Senate Bill 137 and I'm calling to ask the Senate to stop this bill from being put up for a vote. SB 137 is an attack on home rule, and Ranked Choice Voting should be given a chance to succeed if local governments make the choice to implement it for their local elections.
