There are a number of bipartisan bills floating around in the Legislature that, if passed, would make great strides in protecting women and children in Ohio.
A letter to your legislators could move these bills and help save the lives of women and children in Ohio.
- Senate Bill 196, would further protect the privacy and strengthen the rights of sexual abuse victims/survivors.
- Senate Bill 146 - would expand the offense of domestic violence to include choking.
- Senate Bill 18 - would prohibit any law enforcement, court, or corrections official from restraining or confining a child or pregnant/postpartum woman at certain points.
- Senate Bill 13 - would provide protections, support, and resources for 16 and 17 year old minors that are victims of human-trafficking. (Under current law they are considered adults and are at the risk of being convicted of a crime rather than the victim of one).
