🗳️Good Trouble Lives On: Honoring John Lewis today🗳️
John Lewis dedicated his life to protecting the freedom to vote. He showed the world that getting into “good trouble” was sometimes necessary to ensure that every American has a voice in our democracy.
Today, on the 5th anniversary of his passing, communities across the country and across Ohio are coming together to take part in Good Trouble Lives On, a national day of nonviolent action to be part of creating change and challenging injustice.
On this day of civic action, we invite you to carry his legacy forward by urging our Ohio legislators to protect voting access and support our election workers, the people who make democracy possible.
Tell our lawmakers:
âś… Safe, accessible, and secure elections are not partisan issues, they are American values.
âś… Election workers deserve respect, protection, and the resources they need to serve voters well.
âś… The right to vote should never be restricted or undermined.
Thank you for taking the time to act! Right now, there are no General Assembly members associated with your address. This could mean you are not an Ohio resident, or that you have newly elected members in both the Ohio House and Ohio Senate, which has not yet updated their new member contacts. If it is the latter, please try again in a few days. Please reach out to Elisabeth Warner with any questions at ewarner@lwvohio.org.
Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to make a little good trouble!
