Tell the Senate Finance Committee:
Fund Ohio's Safe at Home program
No survivor of violence should have to choose between safety and voting.
That’s why Ohio adopted the Safe at Home program, which allows survivors of domestic violence, sexual battery, human trafficking, rape, and/or stalking to register to vote while keeping their address private.
When the 131st General Assembly passed this bipartisan legislation in 2016, it funded the program through fines paid by offenders. But this program has been chronically under-resourced: in 2024, the amount collected totaled only $5,200.
Secretary of State LaRose has asked for an increase in appropriations for the program so that more survivors can be served, but the Ohio House took it out of their budget bill.
The budget is now in being debated in the Ohio Senate Finance Committee. Tell our lawmakers to stand with survivors and increase funding for Safe at Home funding today.
