This week marks the 15th anniversary of the Citizens United decision, which changed the landscape of political funding by giving corporations and special interests unprecedented influence over our democracy. The result? Obscene amounts of money now flood our elections, spreading mis- and disinformation and drowning out the voices of voters, who struggle to be heard over the din of corporate dollars.
By telling our state legislators to prioritize campaign finance transparency and accountability, we’re working toward a future where voters can make more informed decisions.
Take action today: We’re urging our state legislators to support measures that promote good governance and reduce the influence of dark money in our state.
Thank you for taking the time to act! Right now, there are no General Assembly members associated with your address. This could mean you are not an Ohio resident, or that you have newly elected members in both the Ohio House and Ohio Senate, which has not yet updated their new member contacts. If it is the latter, please try again in a few days. Please reach out to Elisabeth Warner with any questions at ewarner@lwvohio.org.
Thank you!
