Virtual Advocacy Forum: Making Ohio Election Ready
Wednesday, May 13 - 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM - FREE!
Ohio's primary was chaotic and confusing for voters and Boards of Elections alike. Learn from experts on how Ohio needs to improve our elections immediately to be ready for the August Special and November General, and then get the tools you need to advocate to Ohio leaders!
Hear from LWVUS policy expert, Jessica Jones Caparell, about federal advocacy priorities: $3.6 Billion to fund local and state election operations, best practices for election access, and health and safety requirements for polling places. You will then be asked to contact federal lawmakers about these priorities. Ifeolu Claytor (All Voting is Local Ohio), Catherine Turcer (Common Cause Ohio), and Jen Miller (LWVO) will then give you the latest on state-level advocacy to improve election operations this fall. All participants will be asked to call their state lawmakers about easing the vote-by-mail process, increasing early voting, and other pro-voter reforms.
Together we can make Ohio Election Ready, so please sign up today! Event is free and open to all.
